“Now that we have exceeded the quota set, about 31.5 percent has been maintained of the overall forests in Selangor,” he told the media today.

He said this when commenting on the Air Hitam forest reserve in Puchong which is said to be the target of certain parties to be developed.

Mohamed Azmin said that he has not received any information about it and he will not compromise if there is illegal exploration.

“If there are any proposals for development, it has to go through a strict process, including a public hearing, to ensure that this forest reserve is not trespassed by anyone.

“We will not tolerate it. We do not want incidents like what happened in Cameron Highlands and Kelantan to repeat in Selangor.
