CM: Four main objectives of AGENDA to protect the interests of the people

SHAH ALAM, 20 May: The Makmur Selangor Agenda (Agenda) launched by the Chief Minister of Selangor, Mohamed Azmin Ali, today set out four main goals in its implementation process.

The four goals are to generate high revenue for the state, to ensure sustainable growth and fairness in distribution, to ensure quality living for the people, and to create high-value jobs.

6.1

Mohamed Azmin said that following that, the management mindset of state-owned companies require a paradigm shift because Selangor contributes significantly to Malaysia’s gross domestic product (GDP).

He said that the benefits in terms of social justice is the cornerstone in a Development State’s philosophy.

“State-owned companies must invest wisely in accordance with industry best practices guided by cost-benefit analysis and risk management.

“Therefore, each Chief Executive Officer (CEO) must carry out their obligations with trust and integrity so that the companies will provide higher returns to the state.

6.2

“Private company investment is profit-oriented and different from state-owned companies that have principles to guarantee profit for the purpose of social justice.

“This is because company shareholders and stakeholders are the people of Selangor,” he said in his keynote address at the launching of Agenda and the Darul Ehsan Investment Group (DEIG).

He said that state subsidiary companies should also drive new technology in creating a network with regional countries and to be actively involved in e-commerce.
