RM2 million to rebuild Jalan Pandan Indah 6/2 Food Court

PANDAN INDAH, 20 May: The Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) has allocated RM2 million for the reconstruction of the Jalan Pandan Indah 6/2 Food Court.

A two-storey food court will be built to replace the old dilapidated building that is almost 20 years old.

The Chempaka Assemblyman, Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad, said that the construction will be carried out on an existing land area of 0.946 acres and will be built starting thus September, which is expected to be completed in 10 months.

“The new two-storey building will house 40 stalls and more convenient facilities. For the first phase, we will build stalls with the RM2 million allocation, while in the second phase, we will build a surau and a hall.

“However, the total allocation for the second phase is unknown,” he said after visiting the food court site.

The new food court will house 20 main stalls, 10 kiosks and 10 stalls with various capacities, 282 seats, while other facilities such as toilets for the disabled and offices will also be provided.

The Exco for Housing, Building Management and Urban Living said that the construction is a continuation of the food court project in the Taman Dagang low-cost apartment worth RM500,000.

He said that existing traders will be placed temporarily near the existing food court so that they can carry on their business.

To date, 19 traders consisting of Pandan Indah residents are renting shop lots at RM160 per month from MPAJ.
