Wan Azizah: “Return to fulfil the right to vote on May 7”

PERMATANG PAUH, 4 May: The PKR Permatang Pauh by-election candidate, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, asked voters of Permatang Pauh living outside the area to return home on the polling day.

Dr Wan Azizah said that this is to ensure that the majority obtained will increase, thus sending a sign that the people object to the goods and services tax (GST) implemented by the government.

“Young people, do not miss out on the opportunity to fulfill out your respective responsibilities.

“This is our opportunity to tell the government that the people do not accept the GST,” said Dr Wan Azizah during the “hi-tea with women” programme at Taman Guar Perahu today.

Most of the by-elections in the past saw low voter turnout compared to the general election.

This is more apparent when the Election Commission (EC) chose a working day for the polling day.
