“A total of 36 teams around the country competed in this championship. Even the heavy rain that started as early as 6am did not dampen the spirits of the over 350 participants present,” he said in a press statement.

Mohd Azhar said that Pantai Morib is no stranger to local beach football participants since becoming the location for the Malaysian Beach Football Championship (SUKMA) 2013.

“The infrastructure and landscape make it among the best locations for beach football and other sporting events.

For the first time, the championship saw the participation of the SUMS FC team which represents the Subang Maritime Air Station and was fierce competition to the other teams despite not making it to the finals,” he said.
