Refusal to return RM2.7 million, Abdul Khalid’s 8 former officers go to court

SHAH ALAM, 30 June: Selangor Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) filed a lawsuit against its former Chief Executive Officer, Faekah Husin, and seven others following their refusal to return the RM2.7 million in compensation to the agency.

The lawyer representing MBI, Shahir Razak, said that the move was taken when the return of the money was failed to be fulfilled by the defendant.

“The lawsuit was filed last month on the orders of my client after the defendants refused to return the money.

“MBI also asked all defendants to pay an interest of five percent on the amount claimed, other financial compensations and costs if the court’s decision is in favour of MBI,” he said, taken from the Malaysian Insider.

Shahri said that the lawsuit filed at the Shah Alam High Court was on grounds that the defendants were not entitled to receive the compensation on May 11.

The compensation was given to Faekah and seven others; Rohani Talib, Arfa’eza Abdul Aziz, Mustapha Mohd Talib, Rahimah Kamarudin, Dr Sulaiman Masri, Abdul Halim Mohamed Yusof and Tuan Nazuri Tuan Ismail, when they were dismissed shortly after Abdul Khalid stepped down as Chief Minister.

Shahri said that the case will be mentioned in front of the senior assistant registrar on July 28 to allow all parties to take further action.

He said that MBI is willing to drop the action of the defendants are willing to return the amount.

In January, Faekah denied misconduct in the payment of compensation that she received.
