BERSIH 4.0: Clear message, people PM to step down

KUALA LUMPUR, 29 Aug: The Bersih Chairman, Maria Chin Abdullah, expressed gratitude towards the Bersih 4.0 participants today.

She said that the rally this time gives a clear message to the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, that the people are demanding for him to step down from office to save the country.

“Although this rally is being threatened, we managed to gather. Thanks because you are all representatives of the people of Malaysia who have risen to demand their rights,” she said at Dataran Maybank today.

Also present was the Chief Minister of Penang, Lim Guan Eng, Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad and the Selangor Chief Minister’s Political Secretary, Shuhaimi Shafie.

Khalid said that he will support any motion of no confidence against Najib.

“Najib failed in taking care of the people’s rights, and has even damaged the country and I agree to support the vote of no confidence against him,” he said.

Meanwhile, Shuhaimi believed that the number of participants will increase as each location is increasingly crowded with the arrival of participants.

“We will make history for the country; that the most number of people have rose up to demand for the Prime Minister to stop from further damaging the country.

“Congratulations to Maria Chin for managing to gather the people for the purpose of urging Najib to resign,” he said.
