Carom championship boosts Kuala Langat economy

SHAH ALAM, 21 Aug: A cash prize of over RM4,000 awaits the winner in the Kuala Langat Open Carom Championship 2015 that is taking place at the Kuala Langat District Council (MDKL) Complex Hall on August 22 and 23.

Two categories, singles and doubles, will be competed starting 8 am to 10 pm.

The MDKL Yang Dipertua, Mohd Azhar Mohamed Ali, said that the organising of the indoor sports aims to unearth young talent in addition to promoting tourism products and history in Kuala Langat.

“It is estimated that over 150 participants for two categories competed will enter the competition this time.

“Their presence and other people in Kuala Langat will indirectly boost the local economy and tourism products that we have such as Pantai Morib and Bukit Jugra,” he said in a statement to Selangor Kini.

The entry fee for the singles category is RM30 and RM60 for the doubles category.

A cash prize of RM1,000 awaits the singles champion and RM2,000 for the doubles champions.
