SHAH ALAM, 21 Aug: The Community Interactive Club (KLIK) programme has identified 20 low-cost apartment locations to carry out activities throughout the year.
The Exco for Housing, Building Management and Urban Living, Datuk Iskandar Samad, said that a group of teenagers will be identified to be the group that will make a difference to the development of their area under the KLIK programme.
Iskandar (PAS-Chempaka) said that the group will act as the coordinators for their areas and will be provided training and courses.
“The state government is confident that teenagers are more effective in bringing about change to the community to reduce social problems at low-cost flats.
“The state government is also organising campaigns such as Pangsapuri Kita Bersih, Ceria and Harmoni for the same purpose,” he said during the Selangor State Assembly (DNS) session to answer a question from Dr Halimah Ali (PAS-Selat Klang) yesterday.
Iskandar said that the Neighborhood Safety Patrol Scheme (SEROJA) was also granted permission from the Joint Management Body (JMB) and MC to use some of the grant allocation to install Closed Circuit Cameras (CCTV).
“We understand that the method of monitoring and patrolling is hard to carry out at present consistently based on the current scenario.
“Therefore, the relevant method in this modern era is the installation of CCTV. They have to provide information on the number of crime cases to the Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS) to be analysed,” he said.
He said that the RM1 million allocation per year has also been given to SEROJA and KLIK.
