Kak Wan reminisces train ride with Anwar

KUALA LUMPUR, 12 Aug: In the excitement of using the latest Malayan Railway Berhad (KTMB) service, the ETS, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail never forgot her experiences with her beloved husband.

The PKR President said that she still remembers riding KTM with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to Singapore for a holiday.

She said that Anwar was then still serving as a cabinet minister.

“Kak Wan can never forget the experience going to Singapore with my husband and children when they were still young.

“Despite Anwar’s status as a minister at the time, he still did not regard it as an obstacle to use the same public services as other people,” she told Selangor Kini.

She cannot forget the reaction of drivers in Singapore who were surprised when they found out that the guest was Anwar.

“The driver who picked us up was shocked to see a leader of such a high rank at the time board the train, but Anwar said that is was not wrong for him to experience the public transport,” she said.

Now, after 20 years, she wants to feels the past experience and is satisfied with KTMB’s services.
