SHAH ALAM, 5 Aug: Over 42 needy and poor families in the state have received aid from the Selangor Tithe Board (LZS) as of today.
LZS in a statement in Facebook said that the assistance was provided in various forms, including monthly allowance, house rent, the construction of new houses, repairing existing houses, education and so on.
“Over RM224.7 million in tithes has been distributed to recipients in Selangor as of today.
“We take care of them through five major development programmes; social, education, humanity and religious institutions,” he said.
Meanwhile, LZS recently informed on Facebook that they will help M. Danish Maariff, 10, who was suffering from bone cancer to obtain treatment.
He said that RM13,000 will be channeled, including travel cost for treatment amounting to RM260 a month, from August to December this year.
“Prior to this, families made tithe applications but did not qualify as a recipient because the household income exceeded the eligibility level.
“However, after re-investigation, it was found the the total family income qualified as a recipient because there is no fixed income, therefore they will be assisted with RM250 a month,” he said.
