3,000 mobile trash bins to improve management quality

SHAH ALAM, 15 Sept: 3,000 mobile trash bins will be distributed across Selangor next month in the effort to further improve the quality of solid waste management in the state.

The Chief Executive Officer of Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI), Raja Shahreen Raja Othman, said that they are now implementing several proactive measures towards the same goal.

“When we look at the trash situation in Selangor, despite large provisions, it has yet to be resolved.

“So, we want a comprehensive solution to take place to tackle the problem,” he said during the Beyond 3R : A More Sustainable Solution For Selangor Waste Management seminar recently.

Raja Shahreen said that they will set up a company to manage the problem.

He said that it involves contractors put under one roof, including the contract extension of six to seven years.

“This is because contractors can improve the quality of services such as transport, skills, equipment and management.

“This is what we want to do, we will also create a mobile app as a call centre for any reports.

“Complaints can also be made by phone,” he said.

He said awareness education will also be provided and that they are also studying several other implementations, including new technologies that are in line with the times.
