KOTA KINABALU, 28 Sept: Perangsang Munro Kickers (PMK) emerged as the champions of the Borneo Football Cup 2015 when they defeated Sabah Tunas Asas Bola Sepak Safa (TABS) during the penalty kick.
PMK, under the Selangor Sports Stimulus (RSS), managed to beat the local team through a penalty goal with 1 – 0 in the knockouts.
The final match at the Penampang Stadium was determined through a penalty kick when both teams were tied without a goal until full-time and extra-time.
PMK goalkeeper, Muhammad Aliff Aiman Mazlan, played well when he saved the attempt by TABS, while winger, Yus Hafiq Iqmal Yusri, scored the victory goal.
Prior to this, they managed to defeat Sekolah Sukan SMK Datuk Peter Mojuntin Penampang with a goal without reply to emerge as the champions.
Meanwhile, the PMK Coach, Hassnol Zamman, expressed joy over the team’s victory and hopes that it can be maintained in the future.
“The team is composed of young players from across Selangor with the target of achieving success.
“Thank God, I am very happy because the players managed to achieve this in the final,” he said.
PMK received sponsorship worth RM369,230 from Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad (Perangsang Selangor) since 2014.
The championship organised by the Borneo Sports & Adventure Holiday took place for three days starting September 20, involving youth football teams from Malaysia and Indonesia.
