SUKSES: Petaling win three gold medals in karate-do

SHAH ALAM, 19 Sept: Petaling clearly is difficult to be challenged when they won three gold medals out of the four in karate-do at the Selangor Games (SUKSES) 2015 yesterday.

The winner of the 2013 edition dominated in two events, the men’s individual (Mohd Shafiq dan Aminudin) and women’s individual (Nurul Syafiqa dan Athikah Shahira) by winning gold and silver, while the third gold was through the men’s team event.

Petaling’s desire for a clean sweep of karate-do gold medals was broken by Gombak which excelled in the women’s team event.

However, badminton cheered up the Petaling camp with two gold medals through the men’s and women’s team event.

Lawn bowling saw a more open competition when the four events that took place were won by different districts.

Sepang won gold in the men’s individual event (Mohammad Afiq Helmi), followed by Klang in the men’s team event (Arif Iskandar, Nor Akmal, Muhammad Haikal dan Muhammad Hafiz).

Hulu Langat took turns to collect gold medals through the team effort of Noor Suhaila and Nurul Syafika, while Nurul Athirah, Nur Azhafiqa and Nur Nadiah Nabila (three-women team) ensured that Kuala Selangor won the gold.
