SHAH ALAM, 7 Oct: The Air Pollution Index (API) readings today were better compared to yesterday.
According to the Department of Environment (DOE), only Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, recorded unhealthy levels of 103 as of 10 am today.
Meanwhile, 36 other locations recorded moderate readings between 51 and 100 and 15 other areas are in good condition with API readings around 50 and below.
Compares to yesterday, 15 areas recorded unhealthy API readings involving four areas in Selangor which are Banting, Kuala Selangor, Port Klang and Shah Alam, each recording 107, 122, 121 and 113.
However, the Malaysian Ministry of Education (MOE) announced that 28 schools in Langkawi, Kedah, are closed today due to recording the highest reading of 173 yesterday.
Meanwhile, all school in other states are open as usual.
