SERDANG, 19 Oct: Motorsports in Selangor will experience a change with the construction of a racetrack in Kuala Selangor.
The Exco for Young Generation, Sports, Culture and Entrepreneurship Development, Amirudin Shari, said that the racetrack that has been built over the years is hoped to improve the quality of the sport and to produce new talent.
“This year alone, we allocated RM100,000 to upgrade the facilities at the racetrack and next year, it will be increased to ensure that it can be used.
“It will certainly help and solve social problems and at the same time, help provide advancement opportunities in motorsports,” he told Selangor Kini.
Amirudin said that we welcomes races such as the Petronas Malaysian AAM Cub Prix Championship to be held in Selangor because it helps promote the sport and open up opportunities to racers in a more healthy way.
In fact, he said that Selangor led the way in organising the Selangor Motor Race in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
“Weekly programmes such as training is done at the circuit among fans and related parties, and hopefully we can improve programmes in cooperation with the ministry and so on,” he said.
