SHAH ALAM, MAR 22: The commitment to help rural entrepreneurs in the state is carried on with the Program Industri Kampung 2017.
Islamic Religious Affairs, Malay Customs & Heritage, Rural & Traditional Villages Development Exco, Dato’ Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi said the initiative is implemented to empower the economy of rural entrepreneurs across the state.
“This programme targets qualified youth in the rural areas, single mothers and rural communities who are interested.
“Interested candidates will be interviewed to assess their commitment,” he said in a statement.
Among the programmes offered for 2017 are Entrepreneur Development Programme – Food and Drinks Hawkers, Registered Complimentary Therapist Development Programme (KKM Stimulatherapy).
Ahmad Yunus said, other programmes include Skilled Entrepreneur Development Programme – Freezing and Air-conditioning as well as Skilled Entrepreneur Development Programme – Hairstylists.
“The courses durations are within five to seven days depending on the course.
“Applicants must be a Selangor citizen who has resided in Selangor for more than 10 years and aged between 21 to 49 years old,” he said.
Among the other conditions are applicants must posses academic qualifications of at least the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM); or have been practicing traditional medicine.
“Applicants must have also been conducting businesses or just started with entrepreneurial activities for the hawker programme,” he said.
