KUALA SELANGOR, 25 Dec: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) expects to attract about 15,000 new members for the Melawati State Legislative Assembly (DUN) in the next few years, thus surpassing the previous target of 4,000 new members.

The estimation is made based on the fact that many members of Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties have come forward to express their sickness towards BN and wants to be with PKR, which always works hard to care for the people’s wellbeing.

The Melawati DUN Community Service Centre Coordinator, S.Manikavasagam, said that the group is disappointed with BN because the party prioritises the interest of leaders and cronies compared to thinking about the pressure of the increasing cost of living faced by the people.

“They informed that all this while they have been cheated by various empty promises by existing leaders, who were only ‘sweet with words’ to win the 13th General Election.

“After personally seeing the many new things and repairs I have done around Bukit Melawati DUN, they have now ‘opened their eyes’ and is confident

“They have high hopes for Pakatan Rakyat (PR), especially for the Bukit Melawati DUN, to prosper the people’s lives in this DUN,” he told Selangor Kini today.

Recently, about 100 residents of Jalan Datuk haji Harun, Pasir Tuntung in Kuala Selangor, led by the Pasir Tuntung Branch UMNO Information Chief, Ibrahim, submitted the PKR membership forms.

Last Sunday, over 200 MIC members from Bukit Kerayong and around Jeram, led by the Bukit Kerayong Branch Chief, Tamil Maran, left MIC for PKR.
