KUALA LUMPUR, 8 Apr: The Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Secretary-General, Saifuddin Nasution, deems the praise by Duli Yang Maha Mulia (His Royal Highness) the Sultan of Selangor proves that the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat (PR) Government administration, led by the Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, is far better compared to Barisan Nasional (BN) previously.
“Alhamdulillah, DYMM the Sultan of Selangor praised Khalid’s administration because he represents PKR and PR. This shows the PR is far better than BN according to Selangor’s administrative record,” he said at the launch of the Future Together Campaign here at Media Hotel, Tropicana, today.
Yesterday, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, in his speech at the Opening Ceremony of the Second Session of the 13th Selangor State Assembly Session Meeting for 2014, praised the wisdom of the State Government under the leadership of Abdul Khalid in governing Selangor over the past six years.
Some of the topics he touched on was the State Government’s success in increasing state reserves from RM400 million, when Abdul Khalid first took office in 2008, to RM2.9 billion as of 7 March.
He also expressed his support and blessing towards the State Government’s effort in signing the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Federal Government to acquire four water concessionaires in Selangor.
Sultan Sharafuddin said that he deems this as an effort that benefits the people of Selangor who will continue enjoy 20 cubic metres of free water every month and ensure that the tariff rate is reasonable.
The Sultan also said that the State Government’s effort to hold various programmes to ensure the well-being and welfare of the people of Selangor, regardless of race, is also a noble effort to be proud of.
Sultan Sharafuddin also commended the State Government’s effort to provide more affordable housing to meet the needs and demands of the low and middle income group in the state.
He added that the State Government’s success in presenting a balanced budget for six consecutive years is also a result of the practice of integrity, prudence and the adoption of the value for money concept.
