Ceria Scheme: Selangor spends RM500,040 to paint Subang Perdana Court 2

SUBANG JAYA, 11 Mar: The 12 blocks of Subang Perdana Court 2 got a fresh look when the repainting of the high-rise residential buildings was completed in January.

The project to invigorate the apartment was done under the Ceria Scheme with provisions amounting to RM500,040 through the Merakyatkan Ekonomi Selangor (MES) programme.

The Subang Jaya Assemblyman, Hannah Yeoh, said that the last time the apartment was repainted was about 10 years ago.

“The situation now has changed with an active Joint Management Body (JMB) and they also applied for the Ceria Scheme for residences.

“This scheme involves the sharing of responsibility by the government. Residents themselves also paid RM100,008 or 20 percent for the cost of painting which was paid by the JMB,” she said during a press conference that was held at Subang Perdana Court 2 today.

Hannah said that the apartment is also receiving 20 cubic metres of free water as part of the MES programme.

In addition, the Subang Perdana Court 2 Apartment also had a library which functions as a centre of learning since 2011 as a result of an allocation of RM7,000 from the Assemblyman’s office.

“Free English language tuition is held here for the residents’ children every Saturday, taught by volunteer teachers,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Subang Perdana Court 2 JMB Secretary, Nor Roslawati Mojd Nor, said that they are grateful to the state government which approved the application to participate in the Ceria Scheme.

“Things are different from before because many things have improved. So, I hope that residents will cooperate to pay the apartment maintenance charges,” she said.
