SHAH ALAM, 7 Apr: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will remain as the Economic Advisor and there is no need to make a new appointment,

The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, reminded the Selangor State Assembly (DNS) of Anwar’s leadership in managing the economy that he received world recognition.

“Euro Money acknowledged him as one of the best Finance Ministers after his appointment, while in 1996 he was recognised as the ‘Finance Minister of the Year’.

“He was also the Chairman of the World Bank for the development committee involving developed and developing countries,” he said after the DNS winding-up session today.

Mohamed Azmin said that although Anwar is in jail, it is not a barrier to obtain ideas and references from him.

“Even if he is in jail, why can I not obtain his advice through writing and referencing; the writings and work presented by Anwar is worldwide.

“I can still refer to his ideas; he is still the Economic Advisor,” he said.
