Iskandar Futsal Cup offers a total prize of RM50,000

BATU CAVES, 20 Oct: The Iskandar Futsal Cup organised by the Chempaka State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Service Centre with the cooperation of the Selangor PAS Youth Assembly is offering a total cash prize of RM50,000.

The Chempaka Assemblyman, Datuk Iskandar Samad, said that the competition that is scheduled to take place across Selangor involves six zones; Bangi, Shah Alam, Subang Jaya, Ampang and Gombak starting November 8 to January 2016.

“Non-governmental organisations (NGOs), sports clubs and companies interested to participate are encouraged.

“Over 180 teams are expected to take part where each zone will be represented by 32 teams,” he said.

He said this during a press conference during the launch of the Iskandar Futsal Cup today.

The Iskandar Futsal Cup will be divided into three categories; men’s open, men’s under 17 and under 15.

Iskandar said that the open category winner will take home a cash prize of RM8,000, while the men’s under 17 and 15 categories will take home RM5,000.

“The programme is hoped to unearth new talent and provide opportunities for young people to show their talents in futsal,” he said.
