MPK Raids Spa Undertaking Massage Parlour Activities

SHAH ALAM, 6 Dec: Klang Municipal Council (MPK) seized goods from a health spa which has been operating as a massage parlour.

The MPK Department of Licensing and Small Hawkers Operation in Bandar Baru Klang was headed by MPK Environmental Health Officer, Hasnor harith who was also accompanied by several MPK Council Members.

“We, previously, have issued notices besides imposing compounds on the premises.

“Today we had to take action after the warnings were ignored by the operator (of the spa),” said Hasnor.

In the meantime, MPK Council Member, Azmizam Zaman Huri has asked the public to stop patronising business centres that are operating without a license.

“Since 2008, the MPK has no longer issued licenses for massage parlours.

“So we ask that the public do not encourage illegal business because if there is no demand, it is certain that their business will not survive,” he said.

During the operation this morning, MPK had also removed the spa’s advertising billboard.

MPK has also taken action to take down an advertising billboard of a furniture shop in the area.

The advertisement had not obtained an advertising licence from MPK.
