No Changes: Merdeka Stadium Will Still Be The HKR112 Venue

SHAH ALAM, 11 Jan: Merdeka Stadium will still be the venue of the People’s Uprising Assembly 112 (HKR112) tomorrow even though yesterday, the police suggested that the assembly be held at the Bukit Jalil Stadium.

Organising Chairman, Mohamad Sabu, when contacted this morning, hopes that citizens from across the country will be able to be present at the specified time and will follow all periodic instructions issued by the organisers.

“Cooperation from the police…ok…, we have already made preparations at Merdeka Stadium.

“Most of our people will be using public transportation to arrive (at the venue) and Merdeka Stadium is nearby,” he said.

He said that so far, there has not been any provocation towards the smooth running of the assembly and it is hoped that this will continue to go as well as planned.

“My hope is for people to come to this mass assembly which will carry out peacefully and will also dismiss peacefully at 5 in the evening, so everyone, do not fear.

“The level of security which will be provided by PAS Unit Amal, AMK volunteers and DAPSY as well as the police this time, will collaborate to provide security control,” he said.

Previously, Kuala Lumpur Chief of Police, Datuk Mohamad Salleh suggested for the organisers of HKR112 to revise their intention to use Merdeka Stadium.

The police suggested that the organisers use Bukit Jalil Stadium considering that it can accommodate a larger capacity and complete public transportation including LRT, and it meets safety requirements.
