CM: Never Threatened Civil Servants Who Do Not Support State Government

SHAH ALAM, 24 FEB: The State Government under the leadership of Pakatan Rakyat (PR) has never removed any civil servants from office in Selangor because they do not support or are not present at any events organised by them.

Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said that this is different from that practiced by the Umno-BN Government that threatens their civil servants to support them and to attend every event organised by them.

“The Selangor PR Government has never removed any civil servants in Selangor from their positions simply because they do not support or does not attend any of my or any of the other PR leaders events.

“Unlike the Umno-BN Government, look at how many civil servants, including teachers, who have been re-positioned in their workplace because they do not attend events organised by Umno-BN leaders,” he said.

Abdul Khalid said this while giving a speech at the Selangor state level Maulidur Rasul (Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday) Celebrations organised by the Malaysian Indian Muslim Madrasah Council (MIM) here at Melawati Stadium in Shah Alam yesterday.

Abdul Khalid was commenting about complaints that there have been certain individuals from the Malaysian Indian Muslim Union (KIMMA) who have been threatening Indian Muslims to not attend the celebrations by giving various excuses.

For example, just now I had received a complaint that a certain individual from the Malaysian Indian Muslim Union (KIMMA) threatened Indian Muslims to not attend today’s celebrations because the (position of) Senator given by the Federal Government to Indian Muslims will be withdrawn,” he added.

He added that the threat also stated that the annual assistance money given to the surau may be stopped and permits or visas of ustadz will not be renewed.

“There have been many more threats from leaders of the Umno-BN Government to the people,” he stressed.

Previously, a religious teacher in Labuan claimed to have been dismissed by the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department (JAWA) simply because she attended a talk by Opposition Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

According to the teacher, Qatrun Nada Mohd Latfi, she had received a notice of dismissal after receiving a call from a local Umno-BN leader.
