Drains Solve Flood Problem in Kampung Melayu Subang Tambahan

SHAH ALAM, 2 FEB: The construction of a drains in Kampung Melayu Subang Tambahan, Section U5, particularly in Jalan Rambai and Sukun, managed to overcome the flood problem that occasionally affects the area.

With a cost of RM165,000 obtained through the Selangorku Grant, the construction of the drains were undertaken by the Kota Damansara constituency Service Centre after receiving complaints from residents regarding the problem that they have been facing all these years.

Abdul Aziz Dahlan, the Kota Damansara Assemblyman’s Personal Assistant explained that the construction work for the drains were completed in November last year.

“These drains are constructed to provide relief to the people in this village apart from solving the flood problem because prior to this, there were no drains built by the roadside.

“The provisions by the State Government has helped overcome problems faced by the people in addition to the friendly relations between elected representative, Dr Nasir Hashim, and the people, makes it easy for matters to be solved,” he said.

The Kampung Melayu Subang Tambahan Residents Association Secretary, Hamim Hamzah said that the village that was over 18 years old has been facing the problem of lack of drains for water drainage.

With the construction of drains on both the routes, he said that it completed the construction in the area because other routes has the same drainage facilities prior to this.

“We are happy with the facilities provided and the problems (we) faced has also successfully been solved,” he said.
