DESA PANDAN, 23 Apr: Popular preacher, Ustaz Azhar Idrus, praised the Selangor State Government for successfully enlivening mosques and suraus in Selangor over the past five years with knowledge functions.
He explained that programmes or religious lectures in Selangor recorded the highest attendance in the Klang Valley.
“Selangor is the number one state in terms of most attendees for lectures. Kelantan is at number two. So, if we change the State Government of Selangor, there will no longer be lectures like this at mosques.
“Do we want to close these lectures?” he asked in front of 1,000 attendees.
He said this at a casual programme in conjunction with the 13th General Election (GE-13) campaign organised by the Titiwangsa Parliament PAS, held at the grounds of the Mamak Bistro Restaurant at Desa Pandan.
Also present was the Titiwangsa Parliamentary candidate, Ahmad Zamri Asa’ad Khuzaimi, who met and mingled with voters and supporters of Pakatan Rakyat.
Ustaz Azhar also advised the people to not be afraid to vote to change the leaders of the government because that fate of humans is determined by Allah SWT.
“Some people say, those of us who obtain salary from the government have to support the government in the election.
“Some people say that if we do not earn a wage, all facilities are provided for by the government. So we must respond to their kindness.
“We answer; it would be silly to sit idle because when voting, there is no government contesting.
“The government will not contest. Please, be a little smart. If we have to support the government in the election, how is that possible? Because there are only names of parties contesting,” he said followed by laughter from the crowd.
He added the people’s infrastructure is the responsibility of all governments in the world when ruling.
“For example, Russia and China are led by those who do not believe in the existence of God, but they also build facilities for the people,” he added.
