SHAH ALAM, 16 Apr: The Pakatan Rakyat (PR) manifesto which will announces this Thursday, combines four components based on economy, peace, brotherhood and the people’s government, said Selangor PR Chairman, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.
According to him, the Selangor PR will continue policies and programmes that were successfully implemented by the State Government within the 5 years of governing the state.
Among the issues that will be brought to focus is the effort to return water rights to 5.2 million people of Selangor.
“We will organise the water industry and set up an entity where the equity will be saved as a trust from 5.2 million people.
“We will also focus on the people’s housing needs, where RM100 million will be allocated to the Housing Authority to ensure that private developers and state government agencies build as many affordable housing in line with the demands of society,” he said in a press conference her at the State Government Housing Exco Complex Hall this morning.
He added that education is also given emphasis where the Selangor PR will empower Mahad Tahfiz (Islamic education) schools and to establish a fund to help national-type schools, including private schools.
He said that women and youth are not left out where the Selangor PR will provide a fund of RM100 million for them to increase their skills as well as entrepreneurship skills.
