PAS Wagers Husam to Contest for Putrajaya

KUALA LUMPUR, 9 Apr: Vice-President Husam Musa, has been announced as the Putrajaya Parliament candidate to challenge the current holder, Umno Secretary General, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

Meanwhile, experienced architect, Ir. Datuk Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah is announced to be contesting in the Kuala Terengganu Parliament.

This was announced by PAS President, Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang in a press conference at the PAS General Office today.

Abdul Hadi also announced three more Parliamentary seats which will contested by three top leaders of Central PAS.

They are; Vice President, Mohammad Sabu (Mat Sabu) who is announced to be competing in the Pendang Parliament, Kedah, Vice President, Dalahuddin Ayub for the Pulai Parliament, Johor, and Datuk Mahfuz Omar who will remain contesting in Pokok Sena.

At the press conference, Abdul Hadi was also announced to remain contesting in the Marang Parliament.

It was also announced that former Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ), Datuk Fauzi Shaari, will be contesting in the Larut Parliament and popular artist, Wan Aisyah Wan Arifin, will be contending in the Jempol Parliament, Negeri Sembilan.

Abdul Hadi also stated that all PAS candidates contesting at the state level will be announced by their respective state PAS, while candidates form the PAS Supporters Assembly (DHPP) will be announced later.

Datuk Husam Musa who is us to PAS challenge in the Putrajaya Parliament in his speech admitted that he will be facing a difficult task to win in the area but will take a positive approach in contributing to the victory for Pakatan Rakyat (PR) Parliamentary seats.

“He (Tengku Adnan) is a great figure. A strategist.

“There are little electors in this area. Basic amenities are good. Unlike problems in villages.

“I am asking for help from friends of the media,” said the Salor Assemblyman.

According to him, he will also listen to the aspirations of the people that need to be focused on as well as to remind PAS staff to not raise any party flags on protocol roads, seeing that Putrajaya houses various national administrative agencies.

He hopes that the campaign will take place peacefully without any discrimination.

For Salahuddin Ayub, the trust placed by the party to compete in the Pulai Parliament will be carried as best possible and he believes that Johor can contribute 12 Parliamentary seats to help PR takeover Putrajaya.

“Thanks for the party’s believe even though this is a huge responsibility, so much so that BN is saying that I am ‘digging my own grave’.

“PR will not go to Putrajaya without contribution of parliamentary seats.

“Thanks to the people of Johor for giving good response over the past year.

“Friends, come together to contribute. Families come closer. This is very interesting. I’m going to take it on,” he said.

As a whole, PAS will be contesting in 76 Parliamentary seats and 230 State Legislative Assembly seats in the 13th General Elections (GE-13).
