Rafizi, Iskandar Confident PR Manifesto Will Attract Support

Pandan Indah, 20 Apr: Pakatan Rakyat (PR) candidate for Pandan will focus on the campaign on explaining the coalition’s manifesto which was launched earlier as an effort to win the heart of voters.

The Pandan Parliamentary seat candidate, Rafizi Ramli said that he will also focus on the crime problems plaguing the area which is located near the nation’s capital.

He is also confident in gaining the voters support for the policies offered by PR in its manifesto titled “the People’s Manifesto”, even in the face of intense competition for the Pandan seat.

“Currently, the mood of the people is to bring change. This clash from three corners is an open battle and we will do our best,” he said when met at the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council candidacy centre.

The Pandan Parliament will witness a three-cornered clash between Rafizi. Gary Lim Chin Yee from BN and Independent candidate, Allan Tan.

Allan, who replaced the Pandan Parliament incumbent, Datuk Seri Ong Ting Keat, will be using the symbol of an elephant.

Meanwhile the Chempaka State Legislative Assembly (DUN) will witness a one-on-one clash between the GE-12 incumbent, Iskandar Saman and Umno-BN candidate, Muhammad Faizal Sufar.

Iskandar said that he will focus on the PR manifesto and to contest maturely.

He hopes that this time, campaigning will carry out healthily, without any personal attacks.

“We will give it our best. We will focus on our achievements over the past five years, in terms of performance of the State Government and the achievements at DUNs,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Teratai DUN involves competition from give candidates for the 13th General Election (GE-13), Tiew Way Keng from DAP and from Gerakan-BN, Liew Pok Boon.

While three Independent candidates are; the GE-12 incumbent, Jenice Lee who will using the symbol of a tree, Pandan Perdana Residents’ Association Chairman, Lim Ah Chai (key symbol), and Deputy President of the Coalition of KL and Selangor NGOs (GPBKSWPKL), Chin Kok Keong, using the flower symbol.

All the names of contesting candidates was announced by the EC Managing Officer, Abdul Halim Hussain and no candidates were rejected.

It is estimated that nearly 2,500 candidate supporters were present at the candidate nomination process of Abdul Hamid Husin.
