SHAH ALAM, 17 Apr: There is no Umno-BN candidate in Selangor who can match the credibility and stature of Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim as a Chief Minister who successfully led Selangor over the past five years.

Selangor PKR Information Chief, Shuhaimi Shafiei said that the new faces of candidates being highlighted by BN for the 13th General Elections (GE-13) in Selangor has no stature as a Chief Minister candidate who can match Abdul Khalid.

“There is no figure highlighted who has nearly the stature of Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim as a Chief Minister candidate form BN.

“This means that there is no BN candidate who is as distinguished as a candidate for Chief Minister if a comparison is made with Khalid’s stature as the current Pakatan Rakyat (PR) Chief Minister,” he told TVSelangor.

Over the past five years, the State Government, under the leadership of Abdul Khalid, managed to have state savings reserves amounting to RM2.5 billion compared to only RM400 million under the previous Umno-BN administration.

According Shuhaimi, many BN candidates in Selangor are second and third row leaders in their division and they are likely to cause chaos during the GE-13.

“For example, in Port Klang, the second highest candidate in the hierarchy in terms of party leadership and this may provide a more severe impact to Umno-BN and other component friends from MCA and MIC,” he added.

He said, despite BN introducing candidates consisting of younger people and possess the education, it will still not be an impact because they still follow the administration methods of the top leaders in the coalition.

“But I am confident that this is what we call ‘make-up’ as long as they are still in the old mold,” he added.
