KOTA DAMANSARA, July 2: The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) will ensure that all infrastructures under them will be maintained properly in order to avoid any unwanted incidents from happening.

This is due to the complaints from the residents of the People’s Housing Project (PPR) here in Kota Damansara who have asked the Local Authorities (PBT) to maintain the metal barrier of the corridor in front of their homes.

The complaints were made following the incident that occurred last June when a child, Tinesh Raj Murally, 5, died of severe injuries after falling from the 14th floor through the damaged metal barricades.

Accordingly, MBPJ in a statement said that they hope that all parties will work together with the Local Authorities to ensure that all infrastructures are cared for properly.

“We hope that everyone, from all walks of life will work with the Local Authorities to ensure that all infrastructures are maintained, are free from vandalism as well as to monitor the activities of small children all the time,” said the MBPJ Public Relations Unit in a media statement.

MBPJ also urged the public to lodge complaints if there are any damages to infrastructures via email or to call the hotline.

The people are invited to lodge an immediate complaint through the MBPJ email at [email protected] or call the 24 hour hotline at 03-79542020.

The over 10 year old low-cost housing is currently experiencing a variety of damages, including the metal barricades at the corridor at almost every level.
