KUALA LUMPUR, July 15: Today, Pakatan Rakyat (PR) files a lawsuit against seven committee members of the Election Commission (EC) regarding allegations of fraud in the implementation of the usage of the indelible ink during the 13th General Election.

Subang Parliamentarian, R Sivarasa said that the suit would also appeal to the court to declare the results of the GE-13 as invalid.

“The lawsuit filed by PR against seven EC members, including the Chairman and the Deputy Chairman are individual (suits) because they failed to perform their responsibilities honestly and fairly during the election.

“It is clear that the indelible ink used was not permanent as it was (previously) announced to last up to seven days,” he claimed during a press conference in Parliament today.

He said that if the court decision is in their favour, the court should order for a formation of a new EC committee.

Lembah Pantai Member of Parliament, Nurul Izzah Anwar claimed that the EC action on the whole is seen as biased and in favour of the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

“They did their best perhaps to defend the Prime Minister’s statement including matters of corruption and vote-buying to attack the Opposition Leader,” she said.
