RM55 Million Out of RM300 Million from Selangorku Grant Spent

SHAH ALAM, July 1: So far, the State Government has spent a total of over RM55 million from the RM 300 million allocated in the Selangorku Grant.

Provisions for infrastructure as recorded the highest spending of more than RM32.8 million.

In addition, a total of RM5.6 million has been spent under the sports infrastructure grant.

“With better infrastructure such as upgrading roads, drains and ditches (as well as ) the building of bridges and street lamps have helped a lot in making life more comfortable for the people.

“In addition to making roads safer for users as well as to help overcome the problem of frequent flash floods caused by the unmaintained drains and ditches,” said Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

The Chief Minister said this in reply to an oral question by Abdul Syukur Idrus (BN-Kuang) regarding the use of the Selangorku Grant in the Selangor State Assembly session today.

Abdul Khalid added that there have been nearly 66.5 percent (147 projects) of the total 221 infrastructural projects that involve road paving, 19.9 percent (44 projects) drain upgrading projects and 4 percent (9 projects) to provide street lighting.

Other projects implemented under the Selangorku Grant include Democracy Strengthening at a cost of RM4 million of the allocated RM 5 million, Women Empowerment R 3.4 million out of RM30 million, Educational Support RM3 million out of the RM30 million and 13 other programmes.
