Anwar: Nationwide Protest if Central Government Implements GST

SHAH ALAM, 6 Oct: A nationwide protest will be held if the Central Government implements the Goods and Services Tax (GST) system in the 2014 Budget which will be announced on 25 October at the House of Representatives.

Opposition Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that Pakatan Rakyat (PR) strongly opposed any effort by the Umno-BN government to implement the GST which would only burden the people.

“The government has already increased the price of petrol. This GST will take a toll on the people,” said Anwar quoted from The Star Online.
