DYMM the Sultan of Selangor: People, do not be Influenced by Heresy

PORT KLANG, 6 Dec: DYMM the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah is troubled with issues of excessiveness in religion that causes people to murder and be cruel towards fellow human beings that is happening lately.

He said that such matters arise due to deviant movements such as teachings of Syiah, Al-Arqam, Kadiani and Tuhan Harun.

He said that this deviates from the Islamic understanding which we practice according to the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad.

“I hope that the people of this state will not be influenced with sweet promises of those who want to mislead Muslims in Selangor towards a pathway that is not blessed.

“I have also have commanded for Muftis and the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) to provide detailed explanation to the people regarding the deviations of this Syiah teaching,” the Sultan said when inaugurating the Kampung Raja Uda Inaugurating Ceremony today.

At the same time, he also commanded JAIS to conduct detailed monitoring, especially on any religious talks in the state.

“Many people from outside that state come here not just to make a living, but to also preach and teach on the developments of Islam, in which some of them spread deviant teachings.

“Therefore, to ensure proper preaching, those who want to preach and teach religion in Selangor need to obtain approval from the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS),” the Sultan said.

In addition, he also expressed sorrow when some Malay intellectuals and scholars shamelessly berate, insult and dishonour race and religion.

At the event, attendees witnessed the inauguration of the Kampung Raja Uda Mosque which was upgraded at the cost of RM7.6 million and can accommodate 3500 worshipers with 1.52 hectares of land.

Accompanying the Sultan was the Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, and the Deputy Director of JAIS, Zaki Arsad.
