SHAH ALAM, 3 Dec: The state government is preparing the Selangor State Structure Plan (SSSP) 2035 Research which will replace the Selangor RSN 2020.

The Executive Councillor in charge of Housing, Building Management and Squatters, Iskandar Abdul Samad, said that the SSSP 2035 is an integrated planning research which involves 20 planning sectors in line with the Town and Country Planning Act 1976, Act 172.

Iskandar said that the SSSP 2035 planning involves the sectors of transportation and roads, housing, physical land use, business and services, industry, tourism, community facilities, environmental preservation and infrastructural development and utilities.

“Research has started on 4 June 2013 with a series of workshops and technical meetings, as well as a drive, was held with agencies and also government departments, including bordering states.

“This discussion is to ensure that preparing the SSSP 2035 research meets the current needs and is more comprehensive,” he said.

He said this during his winding up session of answering points raised by R Rajiv (DAP-Bukit Gasing) regarding the SSSP at the Selangor State Assembly yesterday.

Iskandar, (PAS-Cempaka) said that the review of the SSSP 2025 will be open to the public and parties of interest in March 2014.

“It is to get views, feedback, suggestions or objections regarding the SSSP in a month, in accordance with Act 172.

“When enacted, the SSSP 2035 will be the main reference for efforts to drive physical planning and help economic growth in Selangor until 2035,” he said.
