KUALA LUMPUR, 8 Dec: The number of flood victims placed in evacuation centres in Terengganu continues to increase to 22,391 people as of this morning compared to 22,040 last night.
BERNAMA reported that the National Security Council portal witnessed an increase in the district of Dugun when 360 victims were relocated, bringing the total number of victims to 3,764 people from 936 families compared to 837 families prior to this.
However, there has not been an increase in the number of victims evacuated in Kemaman, which is 18,576 people from 4,177 families, Kuala Terengganu (6), Hulu Terengganu (19) and Marang (26).
Meanwhile, the floods operations room of the Department of Public Works reported that all major routes, Kuala Terengganu to Kota Baharu and Kuala Terengganu to Kuantan, can be passed by all vehicles.
The Department of Drainage and Irrigation reported that in general, water levels in all major rivers in that state are under the danger level as of this morning.
