CM Orders Lawyer to Meet With Sin Chew Daily to Seek Clarification of Allegations Concerning ‘Resigning’

KLANG, 25 Jan: The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, has instructed his lawyer to meet with the Chinese newspaper, Sin Chew Daily, to obtain clarification regarding allegations that he will be resigning, as reported by the newspaper recently.

He said that a meeting will be held after the Chinese New Year celebration to resolve the misunderstanding that has arose following the news as it has confused the people.

He said that the issue of resignation has not risen because he was at Pulau Carey, Selangor, with members of the State Executive Council and senior officers of the state government for a brainstorming session when the news came out.

“Speculation is not good and we seek clarification from Sin Chew on how this story came up because it can trouble and confuse the people.

“Next week we will meet them so that we can receive their answer,” said Abdul Khalid after attending the Port Klang Jom Shopping (Let’s Go Shopping) programme at the Bukit Tinggi Giant today.

He said that the State Government distributed 400 coupons worth RM100 each to 56 State Legislative Assemblies (DUN) for the Chinese New Year Jom Shopping programme this year.
