CM: Selangor to Establish Special Committee to Improve the Quality of Civil Servants

SHAH ALAM, 20 Jan: The state government is now planning to set up a special action committee to enhance the quality of administration and service of civil servants in Selangor.

The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, said that the special committee is being set up to check relevant aspects of systems, processes and procedures carried out by the state government.

He said that the committee will comprise of qualified professionals and experts to study the structure of acquisition costs, supply and services.

“For human capital development, the state government plans to set-up a committee to improve administration.

“It is expected to benefit government agencies administration and State Government-Linked Companies (GLC),” he said.

He said this in front of 200 civil servants who attended the Monthly State Government Assembly which was held at the Silver Jubilee Hall at the State Secretary Building today.

At the same time, Abdul Khalid also announced the state government’s focus this year to draft more opportunities to boost the service industry in Selangor in efforts to increase the income of Selangor.

“Among them, we plan to hold discussions with the University of Malaya (UM) to setup a medical centre in Petaling Jaya which will not only able to accommodate local patients, but also patients from abroad.

“This will boost tourism in Selangor, and eventually have a positive impact on our economy,” he said.

Also present at the event was the Selangor State Assembly Speaker, Hannah Yeoh, the State Government Secretary, Datuk Khusrin Munawi as well as State Executive Councillors.
