Selangor Need Not Refer to the Central Government, Remains Outstanding for Two Terms

SHAH ALAM, 3 Jan: The Selangor Pakatan Rakyat (PR) Government always puts the people first with various charitable programmes and need not emulate the central government after two terms of administration.

Instead, the Selangor PKR Information Chief, Shuhaimi Shafie, said that the central government should use PR ideas as reference, especially in terms of reducing the burden of the people, which is becoming more worrisome.

Although the central government announced 11 austerity measures, Shuhaimi said that it is not enough to directly assist in efforts to alleviate the heavy burden that rests on the shoulders of the people.

“The central government needs to outline and implement greater savings. For example, those who have nothing to do with the government should not be allowed to use the property and money of the people with impunity.

“Like Rosmah Mansor. Do not let her use the private jet on her own capacity, with no position in the government, except on official visits with the Prime Minister,” he said.

Shuhaimi, who was contacted by Selangor Kini to comment on the statement by the President of the president of the Selangor Anti-Irregularities Federation (GAPS), Hamidzun Khairuddin, who asked the state government to emulate the central government in reducing public sector spending.

Hamidzun also said the rising cost of living is a universal issue that that has not only hit Malaysia, so the central government should not be blamed.

At the same time, Shuhaimi suggested for the former PKR leader to stop being a puppet of Barisan Nasional (BN) by using the non-governmental organisation (NGO) GAPS.

“All this while, GAPS supposedly wanted to uncover PR irregularities in Selangor, but so far, no evidence has been produced. So, instead of being an empty can, it is better to disband GAPS, which does not function, and just enter Umno, because it is easier this way,” he said.
