CM: PR Kajang By-Election Manifesto Increases State Development

SHAH ALAM, 15 mar: The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, considers the four cores in the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Kajang by-election manifesto as being able to enhance development in the state.

Abdul Khalid said that the manifesto which was launched by the PKR candidate for the Kajang State Legislative Assembly (DUN), Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, on Wednesday was in line with the State Government’s aspirations.

“We do encourage reform in efforts to improve the development of Selangor.

“The manifesto asks for more efforts to improve the well-being and economy of Selangorians,” said Abdul Khalid in a press conference at the Malaysia Women Marathon (MWM) 2014 at the Royal Theater in Shah Alam yesterday.

The four cores involve the issues of safety, traffic congestion, youth and small-time entrepreneurs, as well as urban issues.

Meanwhile, at the opening ceremony of the MWM, which was inaugurated by Abdul Khalid, the MWM Director, Karen Loh, said that the participation for the MWM 2014 increased by over 50 percent to 4,500 participants.

Apart from local runners, the event also attracted the participation of foreigners, with an increase of about 25 percent compared to last year.

“The public also have the opportunity to meet Catherine Ndereba at a marathon workshop and a dialogue session which will be held later,” Karen said.

Catherine, nicknamed ‘Catherine The Great’ is a two-time winner for the World Championship Marathon and the four-time champion for the Boston Marathon.

The run was divided into categories; 42km, 21km, 10km and 5km, through interesting locations in Shah Alam such as the Blue Mosque, the Malawati Stadium, Istana Bukit Kayangan and around the park in Shah Alam.
