UNISEL Study: 75.0% Confident Wan Azizah Will Win in the Kajang By-Election

SHAH ALAM, 19 Mar: A study by the University of Selangor (UNISEL) found that the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) candidate, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, will win the N25 Kajang by-election seat on 23 March.

The Principal Researcher in a Questionnaire regarding Voting Patterns and Current Issues, Dr Muhammad Shamsinor Abdul Azzis, said that 75.9 percent of 394 respondents expressed their confidence in a survey conducted from 12 to 16 March.

He said that only 24.1 percent of respondents stated that the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate, Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun, will win in the by-election.

He said that the study found that the people are confident in Wan Azizah in terms of leadership when 61.4 percent said that she has good leadership, 42.7 said that her leadership was moderate and only 8.9 percent felt that her leadership was weak.

Meanwhile, Chew Mei Fun only received 34.2 percent saying that she has good leadership, 42.7 percent felt that her leadership was moderate and 23.1 percent felt that she has weak leadership.

The study conducted by UNISEL included respondents from the Malay community (65.4 percent), the Chinese community (18.8 percent) and from the Indian community (14 percent).
