SHAH ALAM, 14 JUNE: Three additional Tahfiz Science Integration School (MITS) will be built within the state by the end of this year.
The proposal to build the MITS was presented and discussed during the State Executive Council meeting and the Selangor Economic Action Unit (MTES) meeting, said Selangor EXCO in charge of Housing, Building Development and Squatters, Iskandar Samad.
He added that the final decision to build the three MITS will be in the hands of Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.
He said Pakatan Rakyat Selangor in its previous general election manifesto, has promised to build the three MITS if given the mandate to administer Selangor again.
“Detailed planning has been prepared by Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) in collaboration with the office of Selangor EXCO in charge of Education, Higher Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Halimah Ali and office of EXCO in charge of Islamic Affairs, Ustaz Sallehin Mukhyi.”
“The state government truly understand the parents’ wishes of having their children to obtain secondary level education based on Islam.”
“Many of them had to send their children to private schools within the state or to schools in Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Perak and Negeri Sembilan. Hopefully, the MITS will be able to assist them in the future, ” he said in a media statement.
The State Government plans to build the MITS in Bagan Terap, Sabak Bernam and two others in Sepang and Selayang.
