CM: MHA given a week to prepare highway work papers

SHAH ALAM, 13 June: The Selangor Government has given the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) a week to prepare work papers on the progress of highways in Selangor.

The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, said that he has informed this matter to the MHA and they have agreed to prepare the work papers by the deadline.

“We have called the MHA to discuss and they have asked to be given a week to prepare the work papers on the progress of highways in Selangor,” he said during a press conference after attending the I-City Investor’s Briefing programme for the development of the I-City Mall yesterday.

Earlier, the State Government informed that the MHA will be attending the Selangor Economic Action Council (SEAC) meeting to provide information regarding the proposed construction of the Kinrara-Damansara Expressway (KIDEX) and other highways in the state.

Abdul Khalid said that the MHA, which is responsible for regulating tolled highways, should play an important role in providing deeper understanding to the public, especially to the people of Petaling Jaya.

He said that the MHA is responsible to ensure that the social and environmental needs are met, in addition to being the consultant in the development and management of tolled highways.
