PKNS plans to build 5,384 affordable homes in Selayang

AMPANG, 20 June: The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) is currently in the process to secure the planning permission from the Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) for the proposed development of 5,384 units of affordable homes.

The Executive Councillor in charge of Housing, Iskandar Abdul Samad, said that the project will be developed on 63.5 acres of land in Section 9, Kota Puteri.

“Every development will be equipped with various facilities like open spaces, children’s playground, security booths, car parks and so on,” he said during a press conference at the De Palma Hotel in Ampang.

The development, which is to be carried out in four phases, is expected to be fully completed in 7 to 10 years.

For the first phase, 1,528 affordable homes will be built and is expected to be completed in 3 years.

There are four types of housing units built with the breakdown of Type A, B, C and D.

For Type A, 1,168 units will be built with an area of 700 square feet with a maximum offer price of RM42,000 per unit.

For Type B, 328 housing units will be built with an area of 750 square feet and with a maximum offer price of RM100,000 per unit.

There would be 970 units for Type C, broken down to two area sizes. The first is 800 square feet with a maximum price per unit of RM150,000 and the 900 square feet units will be sold at RM180,000.

Meanwhile, for Type D, 2,918 residential units with an area of 1,000 square feet will be built with an maximum price of RM220,000 per unit.
