Sultan of Selangor to officially launch Worldwide Towers on June 5

SHAH ALAM, 2 June: The Worldwide Towers, the newest business centre built by Worldwide Holdings Berhad (WHB), a wholly-owned subsidiary by the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) will be officially launched by the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, on June 5.

The PKNS Relations Manager, Ishak Hashim, said that the 25-storey tower, built at a cost of RM150 million, received the status of MSC Malaysia Cybrecentre by the Malaysian Government and received the Green Building Index (GBI) accreditation.

He said that the prestigious tower also showcases a construction that is friendly to the environment.

The Worldwide Tower, located at Jalan Bukit Bintang, began construction in 2008 and was fully completed in 2011.

The tower is fully owned and managed by PKNS Real Estate (PREC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of PKNS.

“At the same time, PREC also managed five PKNS assets, the Shah Alam PKNS Complex, the Bangi PKNS Complex, SACC Mall, the PKNS Tower in Petaling Jaya and WIsma Yakin in Kuala Lumpur.

“The objective of establishing PREC is to focus in real estate management of property owned by PKNS and its subsidiary companies so that asset management can be done more efficiently and effectively in order to increase the market price,” he said in a press statement.

Ishak said that WHB is a holding company that runs four core businesses, development and property management, environmental management services, investment holdings and the manufacturing of medical equipment, and is currently managing assets of almost RM1 billion.

The company is also recognised as a leading provider of real estate developers and environmental management services in Malaysia.

He said that MSC Malaysia Cybercities and Cybercentres are areas with the MSC Malaysia status which provides conducive business environments to attract investors of information communication technology (ICT) and also helps the development of local ICT industries.

MSC Malaysia Cybercities and Cybercentres also serve as locations for companies with the MSC Malaysia status to operate and grow more rapidly, where companies with the MSC Malaysia status in the location enjoy 10 benefits under the MSC Malaysia Bill of Guarantees.
