GOMBAK, 21 July: Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad and the Assemblyman for Gombak Setia, Hasbullah Ridzuan, and Village Heads of Gombak Setia distributed porridge to the Batu 8 Ramadan Bazaar, Gombak Police Station, Gombak Indigenous Villages, residents, suraus and mosques around Gombak Setia.
A total of 2,500 containers filled with porridge were distributed to share the profits of the company as well as to mingle with the community, especially Muslims, who are fasting.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad Religious Division, Uztaz Zaharudin Muhammad, said that the programme is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR).
“This programme is to bring the community closer through villages and to introduce the State Government company to the people through our CSR,” he said during the porridge cooking and distributing ceremony, as well as the presentation of the Hari Raya contribution for Hari Raya yesterday.
The programme which was held at the Sg. Chincin Gombak Square managed to gather seven villages to come together to prepare seven pots of porridge.
The seven traditional villages involved are Kampung Changkat, Kampung Kerdas, Kampung Simpang 3, Kampung Sg. Chincin, Kampung Sg. Pusu, Kg. Tengah and Kampung Gombak Utara. Not missing out the opportunity was the members of the Gombak Police Station who also took part in the programme.
The Assemblyman for Gombak Setia, Hasbulla Ridzwan, thanked Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor for selecting Gombak Setia as the location to hold the event and this is the first time they managed to gather 7 traditional villages to work together.
In the afternoon, Hari Raya Aidilfitri contributions were presented to 200 poor and needy recipients, as well as the less fortunate around Gombak Setia.
