PKNS sets target to build 31, 000 affordable houses till 2031

SHAH ALAM, 16 AUGUST: The people of Selangor recently attended a Selangor state Development Corporation (PKNS) ‘Doa Selamat & Kesyukuran’ programme in conjuction with its 50 Years celebration at Masjid Negeri, Shah Alam.

The programme was organized for two days and its purpose is to share and show gratitude for the achievements, stability and strong foundations of PKNS for over 50 years.

PKNS Public Relations Manager, Ishak Hashim, said PKNS has built 11 townships in Selangor which comprised of Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya, Bangi, Ampang, Ulu Klang, Kelana Jaya, Bandar Sultan Suleiman, Kota Damansara, Kota Puteri, Antara Gapi, Bernam Jaya and Taman Sains Selangor 2.

“Throughout these 50 years, PKNS has gone through many bittersweet trials and tribulations and these experiences help to strengthen us as an organization,” he said.

Ishak said, PKNS efforts and responsibilities is to build affordable and comfortable houses for the people.

“PKNS main focus is to build affordable houses for the lower income group and the middle income group.”

“The motive of the affordable housing project is to help Selangor residents, especially the lower income and middle income group to own a home at an affordable price,” he said.

He said, PKNS targets to build 31,000 units of affordable houses throughout Selangor from 2008 till 2031.

“The affordable houses that we named as PKNS Idaman Selangorku Houses are actually subsidized through commercial projects or high cost housings,” he said.

The programme was launched by Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim as Chairman of PKNS and also attended by General Manager of PKNS, Azlan Md Alifiah.

Among the interesting programmes arranged throughout the event is ‘ kuliah dhuha’, perdana forum, and ‘qiamullail’ which was attended by famed speakers such as Ustaz Haslin Bahrin, Ustaz Fauzi Mustafa, Ustaz Syed Norhisham and Ustazah Noor Laila Aniza Zakaria.
