PAS submits 3 names, Selangor PAS does not know the details

SHAH ALAM, 4 Sept: The Selangor PAS has no knowledge of the names submitted by the Central PAS to the Selangor Palace as Chief Minister candidates to replace Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

The Selangor PAS Commissioner, Iskandar Abdul Samad, said that the Selangor PAS did not suggest any names to the Central PAS before being presented to receive the consent of His Royal Highness Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

“I do not know if this report is true or not. The Selangor PAS does not know anything about this. We never sent the names of candidates to the Central PAS,” Iskandar said when contacted by Selangor Kini today.

Meanwhile, the PAS Secretary-General, Datuk Mustafa Ali, today confirmed that the Central PAS sent two names from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and one name from PAS as candidates for the new Chief Minister.

“The report is correct. PAS sent one name from PAS and three names from PKR,” he said in a reply through a text message to Selangor Kini.

Meanwhile, citing Harakah Daily, Mustafa said that they sent three names to comply with the orders of the Sultan who wants more than three names to be presented to him.

Earlier on social sites, some PAS Exco members were mentioned to be in the Chief Minister seat to replace Abdul Khalid.

Among the names that were frequently mentioned are; Iskandar himself, who holds the portfolio of the Exco in charge of Housing, Urban Settlers and Building Management for two terms; the Exco in charge of Youth, Sports, Infrastructure and Public Amenities, Dr AHmad Yunus Hairi and the Exco in charge of Islamic Affairs, Agricultural Modernisation and Rural Development, Sallehen Mukhyi.
